Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop seeks a Chief Workshop Manager to drive the overall success of the workshop, ensuring an exceptional Guest experience and a high-performing team. You will manage payroll, forecasting, and scheduling in line with business trends while upholding brand standards.

You will lead hiring decisions, mentor staff, and maintain store safety, confidentiality, and policy adherence. The role involves typical retail hours and active leadership across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders to deliver a superior Guest experience.
• Create weekly schedules and assign daily tasks with the Assistant Workshop Manager.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions with input from the AWM.
• Lead shifts, enforce policies, and escalate violations as needed.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and maintain a welcoming store environment.
• Oversee inventory management, receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Build and develop a high-performing team with the AWM.
