Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking a Chief Workshop Manager to lead a high‑performing team in delivering outstanding Guest experiences while driving sales and achieving financial goals. You will oversee scheduling, payroll, hiring, and adherence to brand standards in a dynamic retail environment.

The role requires at least 2 years of management experience in a customer‑centric setting, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with POS, scheduling, HRIS, and attendance systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders, ensuring a Guest experience aligned with Experience First culture, and managing payroll, forecasting, and scheduling.
• Create weekly schedules and assign daily tasks with the Assistant Workshop Manager, directing their work and prioritizing tasks.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions with input from the Assistant Workshop Manager regarding applicants and advancement.
• Lead and mentor the team during shifts while enforcing company policies, addressing violations with HR/DM as needed, and ensuring store security and cash handling procedures.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Build a high-performing team in partnership with the AWM delivering exceptional Guest experiences.
