Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop seeks an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in all operations, ensuring excellent Guest service, efficient staff management, and effective execution of sales and marketing strategies.

This role is vital in driving the store's success while maintaining a positive experience for Guests and associates. You will oversee shifts, inventory, and adherence to brand standards, leading Bear Builders toward strong results.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer‑centric business.
• High school diploma is required.
• Basic understanding of common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).
• Preferred: 2–4 years of store management experience in specialty retail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and staff direction.
• Support hiring decisions and provide feedback on staff advancement.
• Lead and motivate the team during shifts, uphold policies, and address violations.
• Drive sales by coaching staff and creating a strong Guest experience.
• Ensure displays meet brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving and stocking.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional Guest experiences.
