Job summary

DIG INN Restaurant Teams in New York is seeking a Chef-in-Training to join our scratch-based kitchen. You’ll learn multiple stations, develop leadership skills, and grow with a team that cares about real food, purpose, and community.

You will prep, cook, and plate dishes, engage guests about menus, and support the kitchen during peak service. Compensation starts at $17–$18 per hour plus $2–$3 per hour in tips and benefits, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Passion for real, good food and eagerness to learn culinary skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• Able to meet physical requirements (lift up to 25–50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prep, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, and grains per recipes and taste.
• Gain exposure to garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge and delivery/packout.
• Explain current menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients to guests.
• Support the team during peak and off-peak service.
• Maintain food safety standards and cleanliness.
• Uphold anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
