Job summary

USO Fort Wainwright seeks a Center Operations Specialist to run daily operations of USO Centers, ensuring a welcoming environment for service members and families. You will manage programs, events and volunteer participation, while upholding USO media guidelines and safety standards.

You will coordinate with military and community partners, support budget and inventory, and help deliver high-quality programs that enhance morale and connections for service members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operational procedures with a focus on safety, cleanliness and cost efficiency.
• Engage visitors, act as a subject matter expert on amenities, tours, classes, programs and services; troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain inventory, handle cash, and provide data for financial and operational reports.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for local operations and activities.
• Plan and oversee programs, logistics, budget, social media and database management as directed.
• Assist with communications and awareness for programs, coordinating content for social media and outlets.
• Support planning and evaluation of USO programs and events on and off installations.
