Job summary

The USO Center Operations Specialist in Honolulu, Hawaii, executes day-to-day Center operations and creates a welcoming environment for service members and families. You will manage programs, events, inventory, and volunteers, ensuring cost efficiency and safety while delivering high-quality experiences.

You will engage visitors, coordinate with partners, and support communications, reporting, and budget processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years work experience in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role. Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
• Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software; Digital Cheetah experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential information with tact and poise.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operations ensuring a cost-effective, safe, welcoming and clean environment.
• Engage with Center visitors and assist with programs, services and vendor coordination.
• Maintain inventory, handle cash and provide data for reports and budget reconciliation.
• Create and maintain SOPs for local procedures and Center activities.
• Plan and oversee programs, events and volunteer activities in coordination with leadership.
• Support communications and awareness with social media and local media follow guidelines.
