Job summary

USO in Tampa, FL seeks a Center Operations Specialist to run daily Center activities, ensure a safe, welcoming environment for service members and families, and support programs, events and volunteers. The role includes managing volunteers, coordinating materials, and assisting with budget and reporting to optimize operations.

Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic nonprofit

Qualifications

• Proven strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including military families.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Experience in non-profit, community or service organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operations ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
• Engage with Center visitors and explain facility amenities and services.
• Assist with program planning, events, and volunteer coordination.
• Support budget monitoring, inventory reporting, and cash handling.
• Coordinate communications for social media and local media within guidelines.
