Job summary

The USO Center Operations Specialist at LaGuardia Airport, NY, oversees day-to-day center operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for service members and families. Qualifications

• 2+ years in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Preferred experience in non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of volunteer management software and social media.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operations to ensure a safe, welcoming, clean environment and budget adherence.
• Interact with Center visitors and serve as a subject matter expert about amenities, tours, classes, programs and services.
• Maintain inventory, handle cash, and contribute to financial and operational reports.
• Create and maintain SOPs for local procedures and activities.
• Plan, oversee, and lead execution of programs, logistics, and budget activities.
• Coordinate communications for announcements, social media, and website publications per guidelines.
• Support planning and evaluation of programs and events on and off installations.
• Assist in developing relationships with military, community leaders, partners and donors.
• Coordinate resources including volunteers, materials, and supplies; oversee volunteer participation.
• Recruit and train volunteers; manage reports and recognition events.
• Possibly operate a USO or personal vehicle as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior leaders.
