Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy seeks a dedicated Behavior Technician to provide 1:1 ABA therapy under supervision. Candidates must hold an RBT certification or be willing to complete a 40 hour training and sit for the competency exam within 45 days.

The role supports children on the autism spectrum in building language and school-readiness skills through data-driven sessions. Pay range is $17-$23 per hour, with responsibilities including data collection, progress reporting, parent training support,

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification as issued by the BACB.
• Must be willing to participate in background check process.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have reliable transportation and possibly present a valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification plus a TB test.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and moving quickly for safety.
• Reliable and able to attend all scheduled therapy sessions.
• Professional in presentation and conduct at all times.
• Patient and able to help keep clients on task.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain data entry on mobile devices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and cultural competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 and group client care using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow treatment plans created by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training.
• Ensure documentation is completed on time per procedures.
• Communicate progress with families as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Report safety concerns and incidents promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials and assessments.
