Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to provide ABA therapy in a 1:1 and small-group setting under BCBA supervision. The role emphasizes language, communication, social, and school readiness skills for children on the autism spectrum.

A valid RBT credential or willingness to complete training is required. The pay range is $17-$23 per hour, with full-time 1:1 client care, documentation, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification.
• Background check participation may be required.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and driving documents may be needed.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid; TB test if needed.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable with punctual attendance for therapy sessions.
• Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Patience to help keep clients on task.
• Maintain emotional control during challenging behavior.
• Positive attitude and drive to help children learn.
• Strong attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
• Comfort with recording data on mobile devices.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Cultural competency and open-mindedness.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 and group ABA therapy in line with plans.
• Follow behavior protocols and treatment plans created by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize client data.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training per plans.
• Ensure timely documentation following procedures.
• Communicate progress with parents as instructed.
• Report safety concerns and incidents promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe work and therapy space.
• Assist with client materials and assessments as needed.
