Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking a dedicated behavior technician to support 1:1 ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum under BCBA supervision.

Candidates must hold BACB RBT certification or be willing to complete the 40-hour training and pass the competency exam within 45 days of employment; strong data collection and communication skills are valued.

The role emphasizes reliable attendance, safety, teamwork, and adherence to established treatment plans and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• If extended an offer, must participate in background check.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have reliable transportation; may require driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if not current.
• Must be physically able to perform duties (lift up to 50 lbs, floor work).
• Must be reliable and able to attend every scheduled therapy appointment.
• Maintain professionalism in presentation and conduct.
• Must have patience to keep clients on task; manage emotional control.
• Positive attitude and drive to help children acquire new skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
• Follow detailed instructions; use technology to record data on mobile devices.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; respectful to diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed behavioral protocols from treatment plans created by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training aligned with treatment protocols.
• Ensure documentation is completed on time and per procedures.
• Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work and therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, assessments, and skills acquisition.
