Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy seeks a Center-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support children on the autism spectrum with ABA therapy in a 1:1 setting under supervision. Candidates must have current RBT certification or be willing to complete the 40-hour course and competency exam within 45 days.

The role requires a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification per BACB.
• Willing to complete 40-hour training and sit for the RBT exam within 45 days.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation and (where applicable) valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test within a year.
• Physically able to perform job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable to attend every scheduled therapy appointment.
• Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Patient and able to keep clients on task.
• Culturally competent and open-minded.
• Tech-savvy for data recording on mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols per client plans.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with training parents and caregivers per protocols.
• Ensure timely documentation according to procedures.
• Communicate progress with parents per BCBA/BC instructions.
• Use safe procedures and report incidents and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC with materials, assessments, and skills acquisition.
