FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, moving trailers between service centers and turn-points.

Through education and driving skills development, you will become proficient in the operation and safety of the fleet. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and follow Dispatch instructions while ensuring compliance with hazmat rules and company procedures.

Formación

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 383/391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers that require an average lift of ~100 pounds.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsabilidades

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor or trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with and follow Dispatch instructions regarding events.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Where needed, perform city driver or freight handler duties.
• Where needed, perform freight handling using equipment like forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
