Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to operate tractor-trailer configurations, including doubles, and to perform pre-/post-trip inspections. You will maintain logs and follow dispatch instructions while ensuring compliance with hazmat regulations and DOT rules.

Overnight schedules may be required. Eligible employees receive comprehensive benefits and a competitive starting pay. This role requires CDL-A or CLP, a clean MVR, and the ability to lift heavy loads while working

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learner permit (CLP).
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regs 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift ~100 pounds repeatedly and sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractors.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete required reports.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding requirements.
• Support city driver or freight handler duties when needed.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack or hand truck as required.
