Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, delivering between service centers. You will perform safety inspections, logs, and reports, while following dispatch instructions and hazmat rules.

The role may include forklift work and dock duties, with occasional overnight schedules. Requirements include a valid Class A CDL or CLP, a clean MVR, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete required reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions for delays or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• May perform city driver or freight handler duties as needed.
• Use forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck for freight handling.
