Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, and to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections along with dock and forklift duties.

Responsibilities include securing freight, handling documentation, communicating with Dispatch, maintaining safety, and providing customer service while supporting road or freight-handling tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and safety checks on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies as needed.
• Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Maintain required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions regarding delays or issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
