Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking qualified drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, and to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. The role includes non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work, as well as freight handling and securing cargo in trailers.

Starting pay is $26.84 per hour with a range up to $31.97 per hour. Eligible benefits include health, vision, dental, ADD/AD&D, STD & LTD, 401(k), and more.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulations under FMC 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to follow instructions and training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
