Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer units, perform safety inspections, and coordinate freight handling on the dock. The role involves both driving and non-driving duties such as forklift operation and freight security.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers with ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 lb.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre/post/inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convert dolly connections.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets/straps/rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related docs.
