Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations with safety-focused inspections and compliance with DOT rules. Responsibilities include dock work, forklift handling, securing freight, and communicating with Dispatch to optimize pick-ups and deliveries.

The role requires a Class A CDL or CLP, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the stamina to drive day and night in varied conditions. Starting pay is $26.23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL or CLP.
• MVR must meet company standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds, several times a day.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
