Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a Class A CDL driver responsible for operating tractor-trailers, including doubles, and performing dock work. The role requires completing pre/post-trip inspections and safely handling freight using forklifts and pallet jacks.

Starting rate of pay is $27.86 per hour. The position includes compliance with DOT regulations, hazmat considerations, and coordination with Dispatch. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the FMC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklift and pallet jack.
