Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles, and to perform dock and forklift duties. You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, secure freight, and communicate with Dispatch to manage delays or equipment issues.

Required are a valid CDL or CLP, acceptable MVR, and compliance with DOT/FMCSA rules. You must lift up to 100 pounds and be able to work flexible hours in a safety-conscious environment. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour.

Qualifications

• CDL-A or CDL permit (CLP) required.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• DOT/FMCSA 391 regulations compliance required.
• Basic math skills and clear communication.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lb and hook up trailers.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays or equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance with hazmat regulations as required.
• Interact with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs
