Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, conduct safety inspections, and manage daily logs. You may perform forklift tasks and dock work as needed at service centers and turn-points. Starting pay is $27.26 per hour, with overnight schedules possible.

Responsibilities include trailer hookups, hazmat compliance, and detailed reporting while delivering reliable service to customers. CDL-A or CLP is required and a valid MVR is essential.

Qualifications

• CDL-A or CLP license required prior to entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable MVR according to hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR part 391 must be met.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions on events.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Perform freight handling using forklift or pallet jack when needed.
• Occasionally perform city driver or freight handler duties.
