Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, with duties spanning freight pickup/delivery and dock work when needed.

You’ll perform safety inspections, log hours, and follow dispatch guidance while ensuring compliance with hazmat rules and DOT requirements. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required depending on schedules.

Qualifications

• CDL-A or CDL permit required before entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Able to meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift approx. 100 pounds and maneuver trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip inspections for safety.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete reports.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• May perform city driver or freight handler duties when needed.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck for freight handling.
