Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers between Operating Company locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards.

You will operate tandem, tractor, or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, conduct DOT-compliant safety checks, and ensure secure loading and timely deliveries while maintaining professional communication with customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Works 3rd shift; Sunday-Thursday nights (schedule varies).
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift and move product cases up to 90 lbs throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks and DOT inspections on tractor/trailer.
• Reports safety issues and required repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspects trailers for proper load security.
• Ensures required route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secures equipment and freight, handles damaged goods and returns.
• Unloads equipment and removes trash as required.
• Completes daily hours-of-service records per regulations.
• Performs general housekeeping in the tractor/loading dock area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
