Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers between operating company warehouses and shuttle yards, and to deliver full trailers to domicile locations. This role requires safe driving and compliance with DOT regulations, plus teamwork with drivers and logistics staff.

Shuttle Driver duties include pre/post trip inspections, securing loads, completing logs, and maintaining clean equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to obtain one.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• 3rd shift schedule: Sunday–Thursday nights (varies).

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks on tractor/trailer per DOT standards.
• Reports safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspects trailer load and secures freight.
• Ensures route paperwork with tractor-trailer load.
• Drives and delivers trailers per schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook safely.
• Parks and stores tractors; keeps area clean.
• Locks equipment and secures freight.
• Handles damaged goods and returns; files paperwork.
• Completes daily hours-of-service logs.
• Maintains housekeeping in dock area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

Commercial driving experience

CDL A with Doubles Endorsement

Clean MVR (past 3 years)

DOT Health Card holder

Ability to lift 60–90 lbs

Education
