Job summary

Performance Food Group seeks a Shuttle Driver to transport trailers between yards and domicile/shuttle locations. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and ensure secure freight while complying with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include turning around full trailers, driving intrastate and interstate routes, and maintaining logs of hours of service. Candidates must have CDL-A with doubles, 12+ months driving, and pass drug and road tests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 12+ months of commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday -Thursday nights (schedules may vary)
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; reports hazards.
• Inspects trailer for proper loading and security of freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is ready for dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers on scheduled routes.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractors/trailers in designated areas.
• Keeps equipment and freight secured.
• Handles damaged goods and returns paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and cleans trailers as required.
• Maintains daily hours-of-service logs per regulations.
• Performs general housekeeping in loading dock areas.
