Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. Safely operate tandem/tractor/straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to DOT regulations and company safety standards.

You will communicate with customers and coworkers, perform daily safety checks, and support the team to ensure timely operations and compliance with all policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) on tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company driving guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and securing freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight; ensure proper lock-up.
• Record hours of service and log per regulations.
• Maintain clean tractor, loading dock area and trailers.
