Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling trailers, and maintaining logs and required documentation.

Qualified candidates possess a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, an acceptable MVR, and knowledge of DOT regulations. Occasional overnight stays and long-haul driving may be required depending on schedules.

Qualifications

• CDL A license with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience within most recent 3 years, or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulations under the FMC.
• LCV qualifications for certain states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
