Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook, and manage documentation while adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of recent tractor-trailer experience (or complete FedEx Driver Development) and a valid CDL A with hazmat/tank endorsements. Ability to handle long hours and overnight stays is required.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements required.
• One year of verifiable driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR and meet DOT FMC 391 requirements.
• Long combination vehicle qualifications apply for certain states listed in the posting.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift about 100 pounds for trailer hookups and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where allowed.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and perform trailer connections.
• Complete required documentation and daily logs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Load/unload freight as needed; comply with laws and company policies.
