Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, hitching/docking trailers, completing paperwork, logging hours, and complying with DOT regulations.

This role may require overnight stays and occasional duties as city driver or dock employee to support operations; hazard materials endorsement within 120 days is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• At least 1 year of recent experience or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR and meet DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or equipment problems.
• May be required to perform chaining of vehicle tires.
• May be required to perform city driver or dock employee duties as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
