Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. The role involves pre-trip inspections, documentation, and adherence to hazmat and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include load/unload, following dispatch instructions, and possible city/dock duties. Endorsements and a clean MVR are required; overnight shifts and varying hours may apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year of driving experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook-up and break-down sets of trailers requiring ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; demonstrates initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports; maintain daily logs.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and DOT requirements; follow dispatch instructions.
• Load and unload freight as required; may perform city driver or dock duties as needed.
• Follow all laws, regulations and company policies; perform other duties as required.
