Job summary

PFG Customized is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer and local routes, including intrastate and interstate deliveries for food products. Training runs for 2 weeks with a 5-day training schedule, followed by a 4-day work week and 8:00 PM–2:00 AM dispatch windows.

Position emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and professional customer interactions. Compensation starts at $25/hour with full benefits starting Day 1.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• 0-6 months commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL License
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test
• Pass road test
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move freight (60–90 lbs)

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee training program as required.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries as needed.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer load and paperwork; ensure accurate records.
• Drive to deliver orders according to schedule.
• Unload items and obtain customer signatures; handle payments if required.
• Secure tractor, trailer, and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per company and DOT rules.
• Maintain clean work area and secure equipment at shift end.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
