Job summary

Performance Food Group’s PFG Customized Distribution in Indiana seeks an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer or straight truck routes, including overnight/OTR work, to deliver and unload food products. You will train through our program while maintaining safety and DOT compliance.

The role requires a CDL A, willingness to work a 4-day schedule (11pm–4am), and a focus on customer service and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL A license with clean MVR.
• Must meet DOT health card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
• Drive to deliver customer orders on predetermined routes.
• Unload freight, collect signatures, and handle paperwork.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service logs per DOT and company rules.
• Keep equipment and loading areas clean and organized.
