Job summary

PFG Customized in Kendallville, IN seeks an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer or straight truck routes, interstate or intrastate, delivering food-related products. Trainees operate with DOT-compliant safety practices and engage with customers professionally.

All routes aim for safe, timely deliveries. Benefits begin Day 1, with uniforms provided, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus currently offered. CDL A is required, with opportunities for growth within the network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Internal PFG candidates: 1 year of service and ability to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• External Driver School Direct Hire: 0–6 months experience with a CDL License.
• External Entry Level Hire: 0–6 months with a CDL License.
• Valid CDL A required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and road test; DOT Health Card required.

Responsibilities

• Attend and successfully complete driver trainee or dock-to-driver training program.
• Assist driver trainer during deliveries and follow instructions.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report safety issues.
• Deliver orders on predetermined routes and unload at customer locations.
• Ensure proper documentation, secure freight, and collect payments where required.
• Record hours of service daily and maintain logs per DOT rules.
