Chartwells Higher Ed in Rochester, MI, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to lead catering sales for Oakland University. The role drives revenue, manages client relationships, and oversees events from inquiry to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven track record for meeting sales goals.
• Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and service standards.
• Minimum three years in hospitality, including two years in catering sales.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills.
• Ability to assess client requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
• Ability to write menu proposals in consultation with chefs.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Creates proposals, contracts and banquet event orders.
• Creates catering activities, books, plans and directed functions.
• Creates reports of operating statements and budgets and reviews receivables.
• Prepares and monitors budgets including financial targets and forecasts.
• Maintains local client database and builds vendor relationships.
• Ensures safety and sanitation procedures in HACCP compliance.
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
