Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II on the NATCAT Personal Lines team. The role involves traveling to catastrophe zones nationwide to assess property damage, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

You will inspect properties, resolve complex claims, and own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving and documentation, while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Prior insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and prior estimate writing experience.
• Experience managing claims from start to finish.
• Strong customer service orientation, especially in high-stress situations.
• Comfort with on-site field work and catastrophe environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Coordinate with Special Investigations and Subrogation as needed.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards while ensuring timely resolutions.
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process.
