Job summary

RXO Inc. is seeking an Associate Carrier Sales Representative in Chicago to source, negotiate, and secure carriers for timely, cost-effective freight moves. You will cultivate carrier relationships, maintain updates with stakeholders, and support accurate billing and data entry.

The role emphasizes independent judgment and proactive outreach. The position requires at least 1 year of procurement and transportation experience, plus sales or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of procurement experience.
• 1 year of transportation experience.
• 2 years of sales or customer service experience.
• The ability to exercise judgment and discretion while functioning independently within authorized limits.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight.
• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process.
• Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary.
• Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; consider weather, traffic, miles, service rules, and other factors affecting timeframes.
• Follow established procedures regarding HVS and HRC loads to protect shipment integrity and RXO brand.
• Accurately maintain and update information in the company’s operating systems.
• Conduct research in databases for potential leads; make cold calls to prospects.
• Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure carrier charges are accurate.
