Job summary

NRS, Inc. is seeking a Carrier Representative to manage freight execution, develop carrier relationships, and oversee daily shipment activities while delivering high levels of customer service. This role reports to the Operations Manager.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree (preferred), prior sales experience, and knowledge of truck brokerage. Successful applicants will be proactive, organized, and capable of fast-paced, high-priority work in a logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Truck brokerage knowledge preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independent worker with initiative and adaptability.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Good negotiation skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to learn new information and apply it to responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify carriers for available freight and negotiate competitive rates.
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships.
  • Answer inbound and make outbound calls to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Drive operational excellence to customers and carriers.
  • Manage daily load activities and resolve issues to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
  • Proactively resolve problems that may arise while a load is in transit.
  • Collaborate within a team and contribute to account growth strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
