Job summary

Merck is seeking a Cardiovascular Disease Specialist to drive patient impact by leveraging scientific expertise and serving as the primary contact for customers within the assigned territory.

In this field-based role, you will develop relationships with cardiologists, primary care, and other healthcare professionals, travel up to 25% for meetings, and collaborate with Account Executives to deliver patient-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• S1 level requires a BA/BS or a HS diploma with 0–3 years of relevant work experience in sales, marketing, healthcare, or life sciences.
• S2 level requires a BA/BS or HS diploma with 3+ years of sales experience or 6+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare or medical devices.
• Able to analyze complex data and develop strategic sales plans.
• Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to engage with healthcare professionals.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing market conditions and customer expectations.
• Proven track record of success in both educational and professional environments.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reside in the territory or within 75 miles for non-metro territories; relocation at own expense if outside these distances.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory-level business plan aligned with company policies and ethics.
• Maintain current product knowledge and certifications for the portfolio.
• Conduct compliant product sales discussions with healthcare providers to align customer needs with product labeling.
• Provide management with updates on customer needs and marketplace dynamics.
• Be knowledgeable on headquarter approved information regarding company products and disease areas.
• Monitor business performance against objectives using company tools.
