Job summary

Ashtabula Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clerk Coordinator to handle advance registration and insurance verification for patients referred to Cardiac Services. You will respond to physicians, patients, medical offices, hospitals, and insurance personnel to ensure complete data collection and pre-certification requirements.

Responsibilities include creating electronic bills, communicating payment protocols, and referring self-pays to the Financial Counselor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent verbal persuasion and communication skills.
• Medical terminology course within one year of employment required.
• Basic PC software knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance and coding preferred.
• Excellent keyboarding skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and enter medical, demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Create the electronic bill and communicate pre-certification/authorization requirements.
• Determine, document, and communicate payment protocols.
• Refer targeted self-pays to the Financial Counselor.
• Participate in denial prevention.
• Prepare QI information.
