The role focuses on advance registration and insurance verification for diagnostic/therapeutic cardiac services, with active coordination among physicians, patients, offices, hospitals, and insurers.

The position requires a high school diploma, strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and familiarity with data systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience
• Must have excellent verbal persuasion and communication skills
• Medical terminology or completion of a course within one year of employment
• Basic PC software knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
• Extensive knowledge of insurance and coding preferred
• Excellent keyboarding skills and strong organization

Responsibilities

• Obtain and enter medical, demographic, insurance, and financial information
• Create electronic bill and communicate pre-certification/authorization requirements
• Determine, document, and communicate payment protocols
• Refer targeted self-pays to the Financial Counselor
• Prepares QI information
