AFFIRM is a remote-first company focused on delivering honest financial products. This Compliance Manager will own advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, navigating card marketing, onboarding, disputes, and remediation with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure compliant, durable features.

The role emphasizes independent decision‑making in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscape, with collaboration across teams to surface risk early in the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a compliance advisory role within financial services with card/payments focus.
• Deep working knowledge of EFTA (Reg E) and TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act as applied to card products.
• Experience in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with independent, risk-based decisions.
• Comfortable partnering with Product from early stages of a build in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience owning issues from root-cause analysis through remediation and credibility with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, including card marketing, checkout, onboarding, wallets, disputes, and servicing, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and remediation for Card compliance issues to durable fixes and prevent recurrence.
• Partner with Compliance Testing, Legal, and Risk to prepare for regulatory exams and bank partner audits.
• Maintain and contribute to the Card program's compliance risk assessment and control inventory.
• Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials specific to Card requirements.
