AFFIRM is seeking a Compliance Manager to own advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ship compliant features and resolve regulatory issues across marketing, onboarding, and disputes.

You will lead root‑cause analysis, support regulatory exams, maintain risk assessments, and develop training for Card regulatory requirements, navigating Reg E, Reg Z, UDAAP and card network rules in a remote-first environment.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of experience in a compliance advisory role within financial services with a Bachelor's degree (6+ years with a Master's degree, or 3+ years with a PhD, or equivalent) and meaningful experience on card, payments; compliance certifications a plus.
• Deep working knowledge of EFTA (Reg E) and TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act as applied to card products, plus familiarity with TISA (Reg DD) and UDAAP; hands-on experience with card network rules (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) is a big plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, making risk-based decisions and escalating when needed.
• Comfortable partnering with Product from early stages of a build in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Experience owning issues from root-cause analysis to sustainable remediation, fixing underlying controls.
• Experience advising and building credibility with Product, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders on card, lending, or payments programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to present regulatory issues to non-compliance audiences.
• Self-directed with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; able to present to senior leadership.

Aufgaben

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory for the AFFIRM Card program across marketing, checkout, onboarding, wallets, disputes, and servicing.
• Provide risk-based guidance in new and evolving card features and regulatory questions.
• Review and approve AFFIRM Card marketing, disclosures, and UX for regulatory compliance and consumer protection standards.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and remediation for card compliance issues with durable fixes.
• Partner with Compliance Testing, Legal, and Risk to prepare for regulatory exams and bank partner audits.
• Maintain the Card program's compliance risk assessment and control inventory; identify coverage gaps.
• Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials specific to Card requirements.
• Serve as the go-to compliance expert on card features, surfacing risk early in the product lifecycle.
