Job summary

AFFIRM is seeking a Compliance Manager to own compliance advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ship compliant card features. You will navigate novel regulatory questions under EFTA, TILA, CARD Act, and UDAAP, ensuring robust disclosures, marketing, and onboarding.

You will lead root-cause analysis and remediation for card compliance issues, support regulatory exams, and maintain risk assessments and training materials.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a compliance advisory role within financial services with card/payments focus.
• Deep knowledge of EFTA (Reg E), TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act, Reg DD (TISA) and UDAAP; familiarity with Visa/Mastercard rules.
• Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with risk-based decisions.
• Experience advising and building credibility with Product, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders on card, lending, or payments programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly present regulatory issues to non-compliance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, including marketing, onboarding, wallets, disputes, and servicing.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation for Card compliance issues to durable fixes.
• Prepare for and support regulatory exams and bank partner audits related to the Card program.
• Maintain the Card program's compliance risk assessment and control inventory.
• Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials specific to Card regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the go-to compliance expert on new Card features, surfacing risk early in the product lifecycle.
