Job summary

Lids Sports Group seeks a Department Manager to own one or more store departments at The COOP serving Harvard and MIT communities. You will drive performance, merchandising, inventory, and customer service with a hands-on approach.

You will lead a team, coach staff, and coordinate with central merchants to ensure a visually compelling, well-stocked department during busy academic periods and campus events.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail, buying, merchandising, or related experience.
• Previous leadership or keyholder experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, organization, merchandising, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak academic periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an actionable plan for sales, inventory, promotions, and seasonal transitions.
• Recommend products and local opportunities based on Harvard or MIT store community.
• Collaborate with centralized merchants and communicate store-level demand.
• Coach team, act as Manager-on-Duty, oversee transactions and inventory controls.
• Support campus events and high-volume periods for the assigned category.
