Job summary

LidsU at The COOP operates within Harvard and MIT communities, delivering campus-focused retail experiences at 1400 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA. This role supports the Campus Store Manager, driving daily operations, sales, and service excellence across departments.

As Manager-on-Duty, you will lead store activities, participate in hiring and training, and ensure smooth execution of programs and events for students, faculty, and visitors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail experience preferred; at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager-on-Duty and provide direction, coaching, and issue resolution when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, performance follow-up, and employee engagement.
• Assign daily work and ensure priorities are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a visible floor presence and provide informed service across the store’s product and service offerings.
• Help the team serve the distinct needs of the Harvard or MIT campus community connected to the assigned store.
• Support The COOP membership experience and school- or store-specific programs, discounts, tenders, and events.
• Support sales goals, labor management, cash controls, inventory accuracy, store technology, safety, and loss prevention.
• Own assigned departments or functions, including replenishment, merchandising, receiving, trade books, visual execution, or operations.
• Assist with peak-period planning for orientation, commencement, reunions, campus events, and seasonal demand.
