Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Customer Service Representative for Residential Dining to greet faculty, staff, students, and visitors, assisting in person, by phone, or via mail. The role requires knowledge of campus policies to troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions, while promoting university programs and services.

You will handle on-site and electronic communications, process payments and registrations, and support ticketing and inventory tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

GED or HS diploma required.
No prior relevant work experience required.
Background checks in accordance with University policies.

Responsibilities

Greet faculty, staff, students, and visitors in person, electronically, by telephone, or mail.
Investigate and respond to issues of concern using university policies and procedures.
Process orders, registrations, and payments; issue receipts/refunds; verify eligibility for services.
Provide on-site information about campus logistics, transportation, parking, and facility access/restrictions.
Promote and market campus products, projects, programs, and services; explore customer needs.
Operate point-of-sale systems and other equipment to facilitate purchases and data recording.
Maintain manuals, knowledge base articles, and records; assist with inventories as needed.
May supervise staff, including hiring and performance management.
