Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University in Pennsylvania is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support internal and external university functions, events, and services. You will greet visitors, assist via in-person or remote channels, and troubleshoot issues using university policies and procedures.

You will process orders and registrations, manage payments and receipts, operate POS systems, and maintain information records.

Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma required.
• No prior relevant work experience required.
• Background check and authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet faculty, staff, students and visitors, often as first point of contact.
• Assist in person, electronically, by telephone, or mail.
• Use knowledge of university policies to troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Investigate and respond to issues of concern, isolate and troubleshoot problems.
• Provide guidance and timely solutions and follow up as necessary.
• Process orders and registrations, on-site and via e-commerce where applicable.
• Operate POS and other systems to expedite purchases and record data.
• Maintain manuals, documents, knowledge base articles, and records.
