Job summary

Wolfoods in the United States operates seasonal dining at rural camps, seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role.

You will oversee prep and production, manage staff, ensure allergen safety, and maintain high sanitation standards in a fast-paced camp kitchen.

This on-site, live-in position runs May through September with long weeks and opportunities to mentor a kitchen team while delivering scratch-cooked meals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch baking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities; able to navigate an I-Pad.
• Willing to live on-site in a rustic setting and work demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff, fostering a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operations and ensure portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Strictly manage allergen safety protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and maintain sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
