Job summary

Vivalon in San Rafael, CA is seeking a Café Supervisor to lead daily café operations and volunteer engagement within a vibrant community setting.

You will recruit and train volunteers, ensure excellent customer service, oversee meal service and safety standards, manage the POS system and Salesforce activities, and coordinate events with staff and partners to create welcoming experiences for members, guests, and staff.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience supervising daily operations in café/food-service.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Experience training, supervising, coordinating, or supporting staff and/or volunteers.
• Current ServSafe Food Manager Certification or ability to obtain.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, inventory management, and workplace safety.
• Experience coordinating events or volunteer-driven operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteers and create a welcoming experience by recruiting, training, and scheduling café volunteers.
• Oversee daily café operations including meal service, dining room readiness, and cleanliness.
• Manage the café POS system, transactions, recordkeeping, and Salesforce activities.
• Coordinate reservations, events, and community gatherings with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community organizations.
